For what did you make us
If not for love?
To lose control in a strange embrace
As they stand and judge.
And yet,
Who can say that in Youth’s sweet folly
They did not utter oaths they could not keep
To feel the warmth of a strange embrace?
Bathed in Dew and Gold,
Holding the warmth of the Sun
In tender arms that raise the Sky
They love, they weep, they break.
